About Me

Born in Billings, MT, as he grew up Rob was exposed to a diverse array of talents; fine arts, rodeo rope artists and other odd-ball experts in sculpture. Since he was a youngster in Montana he had an eye for capturing imagery whether it was a cold  morning along the Yellowstone River or a quiet day exploring glaciers in Alaska. From the time he was in high-school, Rob seemed to always have a camera in his hand. Photogrpahs of his appeared in various campus arts magazines as his first public exposure. He developed his dark room talents and learned to develop both color and B&W film and print them in himself. After graduating high-school Rob got himself a camera and traveled the US, visiting a dozen states capturing the people and landscapes that he experienced. These travels were from the North Cascades of Washington, the Boundary Waters of Minnesota, Lake Okoochobee in Florida, North Carolina and Washington DC. Eventually Rob's travels brought him back to Montana and he studied photography and chemistry at Rocky Mountain College.

Rob has continued to develop his talents in imagery, learning such techniques as cyano-type, Van Dyke, and Polaroid. This allows a much wider range of images for expressing the feel of his subjects or evoking the feel of the landscape he is capturing. If you are willing he is able to bring an event to life that might otherwise be a mundane event.

Although Rob is highly in demand, he is always open to new projects that allow a free expression of the subject. (Weddings are not a normal activity for Rob, unless you want to explore a unique expression of your vows. You will receive a VERY high quality Asuka Books album for you and your bridal party, but there will be no "snapshot" or posed photos that populate typical albums.) All jobs are considered and if you have a need please call Rob today.

You won't regret it. It might be the best call you make this year.
